Overview

Fair Winds is a fully equipped, 2BR/2B, bay view vacation home conveniently located in historic downtown Palacios. It is within walking distance of restaurants and some of the nicest public fishing facilities on the South Texas coast. Enjoy free, first-class amenities including a swimming beach, protected boat launch, lighted fishing pier, miles of bayside parks, playgrounds, and picnic areas, just a short walk from your front porch.

Speaking of the front porch, it is the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail. The combination living/kitchen area has a satellite TV and a sleeper sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a four-burner cooktop with a full oven, a coffee and tea bar, a microwave, and service settings for eight.

All bedrooms feature lamps with USB ports for easy charging of all electronic devices.

There is an additional in-law suite on the property featuring a 1/1 efficiency (sleep 2) available for an additional nightly cost if interested.

We have children's toys and games located on the bookshelf in the living area. We also keep a few beach-friendly toys available on the porch.

Getting around

You have a beautiful view of South Bay and are one block north of the lighted fishing pier and boat launch. You are one block south of Main Street which is home to several restaurants and shops. As Palacios is a rural bay town, we do recommend having a vehicle to get around.

Check In: 3PM - Flexible
A door code will be provided prior to check-in. We are flexible on day of check-in as long as our housekeeper has time to prepare for your arrival. Please let us know if you intend to arrive prior to 3pm.

House Rules
Please treat our home as if it were your own. Our family frequently enjoys the home and takes great pride in sharing our space.

Many of our guests are seasoned fishermen and we do ask that you please do not clean fish inside the home, there is a great fish cleaning area located at the South Bay boat launch.

Please leave all sandy items outside.

All trash must be bagged and placed inside the blue bin for pickup.

Payment Policy
We require 100% payment at the time of booking. Once we receive your booking request, Jan will reach out to you with the rental agreement and payment arrangements. She will also collect the damage deposit within 7 days of your check-in.
Refundable Damage Deposit
The damage deposit will be refunded within 14 days of check-out.
Cancellation Policy
Full refund if canceled prior to 30 days before stay. 50% refund if canceled more than 14 days before stay. Any cancellation within 7 days of check-in is subject to full payment.
Notes
We require a copy of ID for the primary guest on the reservation. We also require a signed reservation agreement and the names and ages of all guests. This is easily submitted via a separate form at the time of booking.
