Deer Hideout Retreat - Palmyra

Welcome to Deer Hideout Retreat! We are located in Palmyra, Virginia, with 2 acres of land. There's an abundance to see and to do around here, and we hope you choose our home for your stay. We are far enough outside of the city to enjoy the peace and quiet, but just a short drive to all the action. We are close to Monticello, James Monroe's Highland and 28 minutes away from the city center of historic Charlottesville. There are plenty of vineyards all around us and a coupe of orchards, too.

The space
Our guests will be staying on the lower ground level of our home. This has its own private entrance leading to a walk-out patio area with a coffee table, love seat and two chairs. The private guest suite also includes your own bathroom with shower, a wine cooler/mini refrigerator, and a bar area complete with a small sink. We have a queen size bed. If there are more than two guests staying, we will put out an additional queen size bed. (When booking, please select the correct number of guests staying so we can have the beds ready, thank you). We have provided a coffee machine (with coffee), tea, utensils, cutting board, plates, bowls, mugs, and glasses. Guests will have absolute privacy during their stay. If there is anything you might need, please let us know and we will do our best to make your stay more enjoyable.
We live on the top two floors of our home with our two dogs and two cats, so you may hear some noise and a few foot steps from time to time, but we always try to keep things quiet. You may also hear an occasional bark or meow. We do not allow our pets into the guest suite.

Guest access
Guests will have the entire lower ground level of our home with its own private entrance. Guests will also be free to roam the property (2 acres). Our property is family-friendly, and there is a large grass area to let your children run and play.
We have provided a parking space just for our guests . There will be a grassy hill that leads our guests down to the guest suite entrance.

Interaction with guests
We plan on greeting each guest who stays with us and will show you down to our guest suite.
We do live on the property, however we give our guests their complete privacy. We are both more than happy to help out in any way and answer any questions you might have.

Please Acknowledge
Pet(s) live on property - We have two dogs that live on the property. A Lab and a Border Collie. They will bark during arrivals and departures, but they are always fenced in.
Potential for noise - We live on the top two floors, so there may be noise at times, (mainly from the dogs). However, we will do our best to keep it to a minimum.
Surveillance or recording devices on property - There are numerous cameras on the property (outdoors only), for your safety and ours.

The Neighborhood
Our place is located in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by trees and deer. It is a wonderful place to take a nice walk and enjoy the nature around you. We are close to many historic sites such as Monticello, James Monroe's Highland, and many more places. We are also within an hours drive of James Madison's Montpelier. We are about 27 minutes from the city center of historic Charlottesville. Pleasant Grove Park is just 9 minutes away, along with the Rivanna River.
