Interested in healthier accommodations?  Wonderful!  We cater to those who can not tolerate typical cleaning chemicals and/or synthetic fragrance and welcome those searching for environmentally safer travel lodging.  In order to maintain status, all guests agree to participate in our chemical and synthetic scent free approach.

Light airy end unit featuring hardwood floors throughout and 12' ceilings in the latest development in the heart of Folly Beach, referred to locally as 'The Edge of America' and well known for it's eclectic mix of inhabitants.  Folly has long been attractive to the artist community and is one of the best surfing areas on the east coast.

An ideal eclectic getaway in a new, lower density, well-designed complex with Caribbean flair. Suitable for 1-2 couples or small families.  Well behaved canine family member is are welcome when the responsible adult to child+dog ratio is 1:1 or better.  Peaceful, perfectly situated location away from the hustle and bustle of front beach party atmosphere, yet truly only a 7 minute stroll to beach and fishing pier, 5 minutes to Center Street restaurants and entertainment.  Historic Charleston SC, with all its charm, is about 15 minutes away via motorcoach.  An electric piano in the living room delights keyboardists and vocalists alike.

We strive to keep our home chemical scent-free by cleaning with natural products and essential oils as well as avoiding chemical pesticides etc.  Chemical scent-free laundry detergent as well as chemical free air freshener and insect repellent is provided.  We ask that guests refrain from using products containing synthetic scent while in residence.  If advice is needed as to where/how to obtain naturally scented personal care items, we're glad to assist.

Spacious... room to be together.. room to be apart.  We've not converted the small study into a dedicated third bedroom as is often the case, electing instead to retain it as a multi-use space instead.  Our guests are generally more mature adults seeking better quality accommodations and a more open and relaxed atmosphere.  Study includes yoga mat etc. as well as a full size drafting table, enabling accommodation of other pursuits.  There is also a sofa should you have an extra family member joining you for a day or two.  This room is truly meant as another space to retreat, design, think and read, not meant to be pressed into full service as sleeping accommodation for a full week.  However, in a pinch, for a couple nights it'll do.

■ RESERVATIONS INITIATED THROUGH SYSTEM ARE TENTATIVE UNTIL we are in receipt of completed Rental Agreement documents.  Once we speak directly and determine that our home is likely a match, we'll email a link to Rental Agreement documents for your review, documents must be completed and returned direct to us within 72 hours.

We normally use Seventh Generation products and steam distilled essential oils to clean, we work with our Guests and adjust around individual needs.  Linens are washed in Seventh Generation Free & Clear or Planet laundry detergent in machines free of synthetic residue.   Austin Air unit available.

We're not necessarily suited to children (there are 2 flights of stairs and we don't have child gates, highchairs etc). Most of our guests are older adults. We do have some young families intent on raising their children in a healthy environment who want the same conditions when they vacation.

Getting around

We are a 7 minute walk to closest beach access. You'll probably want a vehicle to get to all the places one may want to visit around the Charleston area. Unless of course your basic intent is to just plant yourself on the beach for the duration for some serious rejuvenation...

ↂ Our focus is on accommodating chemical sensitive individuals, children are of course welcome but the number of dogs and children combined must not exceed the number of responsible adults.

ↂ Guests (and everyone entering premises) must be synthetic scent free and refrain from use of all synthetic fragrance.

ↂ SUNDAY turnover (check-in/out) or stays between consecutive Sundays.

ↂ 72 hrs to return Rental Agreement (after notice is sent that Rental Agreement is posted to DocuSign awaiting Guest review/signature)

ↂ Reservations are tentative pending direct phone conversation w/in 24 hrs & Rental Agreement package completion and all required submissions.

ↂ Signatory must be in residence for entirely of stay & provide: valid government issued photo ID, phone number, credit card in same legal name/address match.

Payment Policy
All payments stated in USD. We accept MasterCard, Visa and personal checks (drawn on US bank, no third party checks). All payments to be made in US currency and not considered tendered until cleared in stated timely manner.

Refundable Damage Deposit
A security/damage/compliance deposit in the amount of $500 (five hundred dollars) to be paid separately direct to Owner 14-28 days prior to arrival (payable within 72 hours of invoice sent). Refunds within 14 days post departure pursuant to Rental Agreement terms.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation policy: Non-Refundable after 24 hr. grace period in which we will speak directly by phone. Our home is geared toward a very small segment of the population and requires far more involvement on our part than is typical. One absolutely stellar point about Houfy is that we are able to speak directly prior to any financial involvement. We advise our Guests to purchase trip cancellation insurance to cover any monetary loss due to Guest cancellation or to pay with a credit card that includes trip insurance as one of it's benefits (and be sure read all the fine print).

Notes
After we've spoken and conclude we're a good match, you'll have 72 hrs. to return Rental Agreement and other requirements once documents are prepared and notice is sent. At that point you'll have access to all the required necessary fine print a place like ours needs to maintain a safe environment for our intended guests.

Provide name and age of all persons in residence for this stay, address, phone, copy of credit card* used for payment(s) and valid gov’t issued photo ID with current address matching billing address of credit card of the responsible party (signatory) signing contract. Use of different credit cards re: multiple payments may result in additional verification requirements. Signatory must be in residence for duration and is solely responsible re: compliance for all in residence, guests of guests and pets.

* We have our own merchant account for processing payments, even if you choose to utilize Square processing for any portion of any payment, we will require a copy of CC used re: payment(s) and will run a nominal charge through our own merchant account in order to obtain address verification data.
