We're passionate about sharing 'our side' of Umbria which has yet to be discovered by mass tourism!

We have breathed life back into this once abandoned Casale (Umbrian dialect for farmhouse) and olive groves.
Now it has been organized for weekly stays with family and friends during Summer when our pool is open.
In Autumn we make our Suites available for you to experience our Olive Oil Experience and city escapes.

You'll enter into the grande entree (the antique oven's space) to find a welcome Sunset Aperitivo of local made wine cooling accompanied with bruschetta, with our EVOO of course, and typical Umbrian delicacies.
You'll enjoy cooking together in our fully equipped large kitchen ( 90 cm SMEG) while sharing an aperitivo.. You'll Dine immersed in our panorama on the terrace with a mobile veranda, great to open for star gazing sipping your 'dopo cena', choose from our fresh homemade liquores while the Piano Room opens onto the Veranda.
You'll play billiards in our Billiard Room next to the Music Room!
Also on the Ground Floor is the Camera Rosa (two single or one double) and its full bathroom where the giant shower enjoys a WWF Oasis di Alviano panorama below.
The first floor has two Suites:
Zafferano Suite centers around its fireplace and a high colorful ceiling in the formal living room.and high ceilings mixed with the sunset light is adjacent to its matrimonial bedroom with a valley panorama and a large full bathroom.
The Sala Pergamena is another comunal living space with a napping sofa (or single bed)
and comfortable bamboo lounge chairs. From here you can enter the:
Suite Malva with its original colour contrasting the yellow matrimonial 'baldacchino' bed and an its ensuite full bathroom all on this First Floor or go upstairs to the Salvia Suite (aka Honeymoon Suite).
The second floor is special with a Meditation Space, Bedroom with 'baldacchino' and large Bathroom with 360 views.
We have some 300 olive trees (from which we make our own extra virgin olive oil), gelsi, apples, almonds, apricots, plums, mirto and an organic vegetable & herb gardens and tons of roses. You'll use our own, liquors we make from our natural herbs, fruits and almonds.

You can walk on our Strada delle Grotte (street of caves - again Etruscan) to nearby Guardea (1km) where you can find typical Umbrian specialities & Nocinerie (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norcineria), fresh pizza, happy hour aperitifs, fresh bread & pastries, pharmacy, esthetic studios & hair dressers.
There is so much to discover if you can pull yourself away from our panoramic pool & terrace which is 350 meters above sea level.
You can drive twenty minutes to Orvieto, the antique Etruscan capitol (and Slow Food capitol) or drive across the Tevere River (8 min) to discover mysterious Lazio with Bagnoregio (UNESCO site), Viterbo (Papal Thermal Baths) or Tuscany (Terme di Saturnia) and numerous Etruscan hilltop towns like Pitigliano, Sorano, Firenze (2hrs) the list is long.
Take the commuter train (55 min) to visit Rome for the day or have dinner.

We have chosen for you:
- itineraries for every interest (trekking, antique autos & kayak tours)
- local quality wine, EVOO & speciality food producers,
- basketmaking, ceramic and cooking classes...
and they must be requested upon reservation!

When you rent the entire Casale- I am close by for any needs. Follow our Fb & Instagram for our news about our news, be it: truffle hunts, cooking classes, trekking, kayaking and our own olive oil harvest & production.
When you rent a Suite outside of our Summer season I will be here for preparing special meals.

Meet The Host

Debra
Owner
Debra
My infancy was 'living out of a suitcase', following my dad -'The Chef'- all over Europe and USA.
During architecture university (SCI-ARC, Los Angeles) I got the chance to return to my beloved Europe, I've been here ever since. I've lived in Italy since 1985 with the exception of 4 years in Brasil and 7 years in Paris.
While living in Rome some 15 yrs ago, I discovered Umbria and began rebuilding this 'Labor of Love', an abandoned historic farmhouse with 300 tree olive grove and began making extra virgin olive oil.
We love meeting our Guests and helping them discover 'our side'' of Umbria. I believe in conserving our environment and reducing waste. No pesticides are used on our property, for fertilizer we use organic compost from our grass cuttings.
Our Casale has been built to provide a healthy environment using bio construction.
I enjoy music of all kinds, animals, travelling, sailing, hiking, cooking & gardening.
I dislike cruises, motorboats and skis and inconsiderate people.

Getting around

There is public transport on the 205 Amerina Strada Statale however I DO highly suggest that you rent or bring a car, better yet a car which is not very low as we have white, gravel and many bumpy roads.

Respect. Take care of our Casale better than your own house, as we would if we came to yours. We ask you to turn off lights, water when not in use, don't waste water nor electricity as utilities are very high in Italy.
No snacking & eating in the bedrooms, no sharp objects nor glasses & bottles nor umbrellas near the pool-if you break the liner you will be charged! No running around the pool. Stay away from the property 'drop offs' - we are on a natural terrace. You are responsible for you and your children during your permanance on our property.
Technical spaces are off limits.
You must separate your garbage or the fine will be charged to you.
