Casa El Ciruelo, a Cottage on its own....
Vacation Home hosted by Karl
2 Guests . 1 Bedroom . 1 Bathroom

Overview

Casa El Ciruelo
Named after the beautiful local fruit tree at the entrance door, this adorable cottage is neighboring our Casa El Cardon. The Casas are in the middle of an ancient cactus field, surrounded, as is traditional in Mexico, by a high wall. And it gets covered partly, how can it be otherwise, by a wooden sombrero. It is responsible for the shading of some of the roof and future viewing terrace, from the glistening sun of Baja California.

Enter the grounds through a classic Mexican Puerta, an automatic wooden driveway gate, or a separate door. Private driveway and private enclosed parking. Behind traditional Palo de Arco wooden fencing, there are small gardens on three sides of the house. Both, the bedroom and the living room have access to the garden through generous sliding doors with fly screens. Here you will find ancient cactus and not so old palm trees.
After entering the house you are in the spacy living and dining area. The kitchen is equipped, nice ceramic cooktop and good size Samsung Inverter fridge. No dishwasher, in Baja Sur dishes are rinsed by hand and dried on the cactus.
In the living area, you find a small sofa, a 40" smart TV with Netflix and alternative view into the garden. From here, orders can be placed by hand in the kitchen.
From here, the bathroom with toilet is directly accessible from the living room.
The other door leads to the friendly bedroom, about 13 square meters. It has its own sun terrace and a nice built-in wardrobe.
The living and the bed room have Wi-Fi, ceiling fans and air conditioning. There is always a leisurely breeze up here and the 360 degree panoramic view is fantastic. La Paz and its bay are within your reach.
Afterwards the sundowner with a view of the lights of La Paz in evening silence, the unrest of the city does not penetrate that far.
Occasionally, a cardinal bird, an eagle or even an owl can be heard screaming.
The soft whisper of the cactus from midnight on, can only be heard with really good ears.

To all things described above, in addition, the shared use of the pool is possible. It is just a few steps from the front door.
There is also the possibility of a courtesy pick-up service from the La Paz airport. This is done in direct consultation with the host. A fishing trip with the local guys in an authentic Baja Panga fishing boat , can be arranged.
Who asks, will gets an answer.
Please note: A refundable Key & Gate Remote Control deposit of $2,000.00 Pesos will be applied.

I am located in the immediate vicinity, and therefore always accessible when needed.

If you love the Mexican city life with the associated acoustic challenges, you might not like it here, we are away from things and it is probably too quiet here.
In the immediate vicinity are the Baja desert cacti landscape, maybe a few goats or cows come visiting by. The nearest pueblo is El Centenario, about 1.5 km away, just off Federal Highway 1.
Without a car, it is hard to get around. La Paz is about 15 car minutes away, so is the LAP International Airport. An airport pick up is possible, by prior arrangement.

Other people live here in the neighborhood as well, so the guests behavior need to accommodate this, no loud parties or other behavior that will disturb the neighborly peace.
Respect for the environment, the Baja Sur is a wonderful landscape, enough spinners have done mischief here, we do not.

My name is Karl.
I grew up in northern Germany, lived in Los Angeles for some time, and arrived in Baja Sur about 8 years ago. During this time I traveled the peninsula from Tijuana to Cabo in all directions, mostly on dirt roads.
And here is, where I put down my stakes, Baja Sur, the most beautiful place for me.
