Set in majestic Sahara Desert is our magical Desert Tented Camp Adounia
Camel rides in the Sahara desert is an experience of a lifetime. Saharan nights are special, starting with an amazing desert sunset over the sand dunes, followed by delicious Moroccan food and finishing with a spectacular view of the milky way galaxy.

Leaving Marrakech in a comfortable land cruiser with our experienced drivers, winding your way through the Atlas Mountains, this is real Berber country. The scenery changes dramatically as do the people, you drive south across the magnificent High Atlas Mountains and the Tiz-n-Tichka pass arriving at lunch time at the impressive and well-preserved kasbahs and UNESCO world heritage site, the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. If you choose to stop here for the night you will get the chance to visit this picturesque fortified village, which has been used as a film location in numerous famous films such as ‘Gladiator’, ‘Alexander’ and ‘The Mummy’.

Your Morocco tour then takes you along the Draa Valley with its ocean of green palms and majestic purple mountains. The Draa Valley once served as a link between the Sahara desert and the North of Morocco for the trading caravan route that passed by the river for centuries. The last main town is Zagora a cool place to stop and buy your turban.

Emma is the founder of Camp Adounia, and connects with guests and organizes Morocco holidays and itineraries. Emma creates wellness programs for retreats, manages logistics for all Morocco tours from Marrakech to Sahara or the Beach.

Emma has felt connected to Africa her whole life. Born in Uganda and growing up Nigeria, her father was a inspector of schools throughout her childhood. Upon returning to the UK as a young girl, Emma had been itching to return to Africa her entire life.

Emma moved to Morocco in 2004 and opened Riad Zamzam in the Marrakech medina. Shortly after she began running wellness retreats and programs at the riad, incorporating her culinary skills and passion for wellness, creating magical healing experiences. Eventually Emma began incorporating an adventure to Sahara in her programmes, which she found took the healing of the experience to a whole new level. After being so inspired by Sahara and the inner peace it provided, Emma decided to create her own camp. Adounia was created with the intention of operating in integrity and consciousness, respecting the environment while providing beautiful adventures for all her clients.
