This condo is in a quiet, 13 unit beachfront complex just south of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye -- enjoy a view out to the Barrier Reef, a sandy beach, pool, pier, complimentary bikes & kayaks, & more! This condo is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a building and overlooks the pool with the sea & beach beyond.

You enter the condo through the handmade stained glass door to find a bedroom to your right with a queen bed. Continue down the hall past the full bath and you'll enter the living/dining area with queen sleeper sofa. The newly remodeled kitchen is on your right and has lovely granite countertops and backsplash, among other new features. Straight ahead is a veranda with a fabulous view of the pool and the sea.

Upstairs you’ll find a full bath and two more bedrooms:
-a large master bedroom with king bed, sitting area, and private veranda overlooking the pool and the sea.
--a bedroom with twin beds (which can be made into a king on request).

As described by the owners: 'Let the breezes in on a nice day, or take advantage of the central air conditioning if it is warm. Watch a movie or listen to a CD from the collection right there in the condo or enjoy some of your own music by syncing to our wireless speaker. Stay in and play one of the many games that are already there, or grab one of our beach towels and go to the pool for a swim. Or decide to grab one of our books and go have a nap in one of our hammocks. Especially, enjoy the wonderful collection of local and world art that decorates this special place......There are four flat-screen televisions so everyone can watch what they want, and the two-level configuration of the unit really lends itself to privacy within a group. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and serving ware, so eating in is always a fun option.'

The island of Ambergris Caye, “La Isla Bonita”, is a popular tourist destination. You can get here from the mainland either via an 18 minute flight or a 90 minute boat trip.

San Pedro is a quaint little town of about 13,000 residents that has retained its charm while handling the growing number of visitors. Sunset Beach Resort is located 2.5 miles/4 km south of the town core, which means you are away from the crowds yet still within easy reach of everything. Not only will you be able to enjoy a restful day on a quiet beach, you will have a quiet night as well – no bar or restaurant noise, just swaying coconut fronds and the occasional fish jumping in the water!

Town is not far away when you want to go in for some live music, shopping, restaurants, etc. But there are things close by too; here are a few things within walking distance of Sunset Beach:

--Suya Tour operator (1 minute walk)
--Marin’s, a small grocery store (2 minute walk)
--Restaurants: Lone Star Grill (lunch, dinner) & Black Orchid (dinner); both a 4 minute walk
--Cozy Coconut Beach Bar & Grill (10 minute walk; breakfast, lunch, dinner, live music, outdoor bowling)
--A beach yard filled with coconut sculptures! (5 minute walk)

The Belize Barrier Reef, the longest in the western hemisphere, is just 1/2 mile (1 km) off shore. Sit on the beach or your veranda and you can see the waves crashing over it! The water is warm and crystal clear--ideal for scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing.

It's also easy to take a day trip from the resort to visit Maya sites such as Altun Ha and Lamanai; or a trip to observe some of the 500 species of birds found in Belize and/or catch a glimpse of monkeys, manatees and crocodiles in the wild!

Most people rent golf carts when visiting Ambergris Caye (it’s not possible to rent a car). We can arrange your golf cart rental and have it waiting for you at Sunset Beach on your arrival if you wish. Rental costs depend on the cart size and time of year but start at about US$300/week.

As mentioned, there are also complimentary bikes & kayaks available at the resort. It’s a 10-15 minute bike ride into town.

It’s also possible to walk to town, either via the beach (40 minutes to an hour, depending on how fast you walk) or via the road (slightly longer).

Cabs are also readily available.

Please note that roads on the island are not like the paved roads you may be used to; many, if paved, have pavers rather than smooth surfaces and some parts (including right by the resort) are hard-packed sand.
