Family Farms in Appalachia
There are many things we don't have here in our little corner of the mountains-- Walmart, strip malls, highways and traffic lights-- but one of the things we do have is easy, local access to some of the finest, freshest fruits and vegetables imaginable. Late Spring is the season for fresh, locally grown strawberries. Early summer is when all the wonderful Farmer's Markets open and growers from the entire region gather to offer the bounty of their harvests. Here in our little community

Looking for a close-by but "in the woods" hiking adventure? Look no further than nearby Jackrabbit Recreation Area of the Nantahala National Forest. With its miles and miles of biking & hiking trails-- in the woods and along the lakefront-- Jackrabbit is a short 10-minute drive from Blackwell Branch Cabin and Gili's Cove Cottage.

Fall's Fashion Show!
Fall days here in our little corner of the mountains don't get much better than what we're having lately-- chilly nights, cool mornings and warm, sunny days. Len Foote Hike Inn - Perfect Day trip!
The Len Foote Hike Inn is on the bucket list for many locals and out-of-towners looking for a unique day-hike adventure that includes waterfalls, the Appalachian Trail, rustic wilderness and a some great food (not to mention yummy cookies) at the end. Waterfalls Near Standing Indian
Waterfalls galore! Western North Carolina and north Georgia are known for the many waterfalls that can be found here. Visitors to Casa on the Creek can plan day trips over several day trips to visit nearby falls. Some of the closest can be found in the Standing Indian area of the Nantahala National Forest, just west of Hayesville, NC. Mooney Falls and Big Laurel Falls also happen to be two of our favorites!
