Visiting the GORGEOUS Daffodil Flats

This week marks the peak of Daffodil season at Linville Gorge. Thanks to these beautiful photos by Joseph Nitti, we are able to see the amazing show of color during this otherwise dismal, rainy season. Legend has it that the initial daffodils were planted by an old homesteader's wife. After the home was long-gone, the daffodils spread through the surrounding forest, creating this magical field of yellow. It's a strenuous hike to/from Daffodil Flats (see details in this video), but definitely worth the effort for experienced hikers. The trailhead is about a 45minute drive from our Parkway Peek vacation home rental. Be sure to put this annual occurrence on your "to do" list and message me with any questions about renting our wonderful cabin.
