That one question every vacation rental owner dreads. AKA What's your favorite seafood restaurant?
Full disclosure, I LOVE talking with our guests. I love learning about them, finding out what their likes and interests are, and helping them plan a fantastic vacation. My degree is in Hospitality Management after all, and I love that part of the business.
But what do I dread more than anything? A question I cannot answer. Which brings me to the second part of the heading above. What's your favorite seafood restaurant?
That's a tough one. Not because we don't love seafood, but because seafood doesn't love us back. Imagine if you will, going to your absolute favorite happy place ever, a place known for amazing seafood, except... you are allergic to shellfish. Yep. My husband has a shellfish allergy. So I have always cringed at the "what's your favorite seafood place?" question.
Well, one day, I decided we needed an answer to that question. An ACTUAL answer, not just "well, my friend Stephanie says that _______ is the best in town."
The family decided to go out to an actual seafood restaurant. But first, I needed to do some homework. I picked up the phone and called Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant. A very pleasant young lady answered the phone, "Skull Creek Dockside, how can I help you?"
"Hi, I have sort of an odd question, and I totally understand if the answer is no. But.. can you accommodate someone with a shellfish allergy?" 😬
Pleasant young lady, "We get that question all the time, and yes we absolutely can." Wow. That's pretty awesome. Two thumbs up!
So I scoured the menu to see what we could order. (Did I mention we also have a chicken and pork allergy as well? Yea, we come complicated.)
We all ended up ordering the the Seared Salmon with the Mustard BBQ Glaze, and it was amazing.
And then of course, dessert. My husband got the key lime pie, as always...
My daughter got the chocolate lava cake, son got the S'mores, and I went for the warm apple crumble.
They feature a full drink menu as well as plenty of beer on tap.
They also have Sunday Brunch, which I'm feeling we need to ADD to our To Do list....
Skull Creek Dockside offers several dining options. Enjoy indoor seating under their A/C, our outdoor seating for a spectacular view of Skull Creek.
We still can't tell you about the actual SEAFOOD (salmon being fresh water and all...) but my friend Stephanie gives Dockside two thumbs up as well. 😃
