About Jennifer Murphy
About the owner: We started coming to the Smokies in 2006 and have come back every year since. We finally decided this is where we want to spend our retirement. But we still have some years until that happens so we decided to buy a cute cozy cabin in the community of Shagbark. With the hopes of staying and sharing it with others until we make the big move for good. We love everything about Tennessee & are so happy to own a little piece.
We chose The Hiking Bear property because of its beauty and location in the Village of Shagbark, a residential community in Sevierville, Tennessee—just a stones throw from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, the Foothills Parkway, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Our community is a gated, 24-hour guarded village of nearly 1,300 acres of mountainous woodlands. It's a secure, quiet, peaceful retreat that offers an escape from the days excursions to nearby Dollywood, Ripley's Aquarium, Cades Cove, the dozens and dozens of Smoky Mountain hiking trails, and the arts and crafts community. We love it and we are sure you will too.
We love the Shagbark Community it is private and feels like your away from it all, but yet you are only 7 miles to the Parkway. Its gated and has 24/7 security which we love. With 1300 acres its like our own park with our own wildlife to enjoy. We decorated with love for Bears and things that represent Tennessee. The Hiking Bear is our cabin name as we love to Hike the trails and we love to observe the Bears from a distance so a Hiking Bear it is. We hope you enjoy the cabin and the home like feel we have tried hard to create for our guests.
