Travelers are tired of paying excessive service fees. They often google the property name to compare rates across platforms.

Can your Houfy listing be found when someone searches using your property's name?

  1. Choose a unique property name. A name like "Cozy, quaint cottage 5 minutes to the beach" isn't going to be memorable. Instead, choose something like "Red Raven House."
  2. Use the same property name across all social media sites. If I were to type your unique property name into Facebook, would I find your Facebook Business Page? What about Instagram and Pinterest?
  3. Use the property name consistently across all listing platforms. Be sure to reference it multiple times within the listing description.
  4. Use the same property cover photo across the web. Travelers want to quickly be able to recognize your property.

Be sure not to violate any platform rules.

Can Travelers Find Your Property by a Google Search?

It makes no sense to do all this marketing only to send travelers to Airbnb! Link your Houfy listing to your Instagram, Pinterest, and other social media accounts. Make it online bookable if possible. When travelers do find your property, they're often ready to book and pay.

  1. Here's how to link your Houfy listing to your Google My Business listing.
  2. Here's how to link your Houfy listing to your facebook business page.

Don't forget about your website. Instead of sending travelers to Airbnb, direct them to save money on Houfy. Let them know they can save over 14%, etc. by booking on Houfy instead.

If you're a new host and haven't chosen a property name yet, consider using a consistent name for the interim. It might take a year to find the perfect "brand" name that resonates. It's a good idea to research social media site policies to see how they handle subsequent business name changes.

And when a traveler does successfully find your property via a Google search, do you make it easy for travelers to reserve their dates?
