Return of the Mermaids - Tucson's Historic Fourth Avenue

August. Return of the Mermaids. This is an annual celebration and parade of the monsoon returning to Tucson and is held both in downtown and along 4th avenue. It's impossible to describe all the happenings and fun that goes on during this celebration which goes from early day and is quite family friendly to late night and becomes more adult oriented. Yes -- you can go to the beach in Tucson and see mermaids too! You too can go as a mermaid and they encourage it! Enjoy this monsoon tradition!
