In addition to the Siesta Key Beach (also called Crescent Beach) across the street, I’d recommend you check out Turtle Beach at the south tip of the Key. It’s a beautiful spot set in the dunes and there’s a few nice restaurants down that way as well. The Siesta Key Village is always fun – lots of open air restaurants/bars, live music, shopping, etc. Morton’s is a neat gourmet market on Osprey not far from the Stickney Point Bridge. Incredible food and delicacies! St. Armand’s Circle is a must if you like to shop or just poke around some high end shops, galleries, etc. Great restaurants there and a nice trip over there as well. The Ringling Art Museum is also a big attraction as is the Moat Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. We often rent a boat from CB Saltwater Outfitters or Siesta Key Marina and fish or just cruise around the bays to see wildlife and amazing homes! Kayak rentals are easy too and they will deliver to you at Turtle Beach park and you can paddle around the island and mangroves there. Just sitting by the pool is pretty nice too….
