Overview

Welcome to Big Ponderosa Pine. Stay in an authentic cedar log cabin and discover rustic luxury in the Cascade Mountains. Here, you can golf, ski or simply relax. We are located midway between Leavenworth and Stevens Pass at Kahler Glen Golf and Ski Resort. It is approximately 18 miles West of Leavenworth. We are only 2 miles from stunning Lake Wenatchee known for its family-friendly beach and park. It is a perfect retreat for small groups up to maximum 8 people.

Big Ponderosa is a spacious cedar log home that offers two levels for privacy and comfort. You'll enjoy the tranquility of the Washington Cascade mountains, yet find that we are close to many activities and town festivals for everyone in the family to enjoy.

The cabin sits mountainside nestled among large spruce, fir and ponderosa pine trees. The outdoor deck area provides peaceful views. It is quiet and a great place to read a book or visit with family. Even though we are located in a golf course resort, you will still feel a sense of space and feel the presence of nature.

There are several excellent restaurants nearby including Leavenworth Wild Flour known for its artisan pasta. We are happy to provide recommendations for restaurants and nearby convenience stores.

Winter is a beautiful time of year here. This community is great for skiers or families looking for snow activities. Read more about winter requirements further below. This location is best for individuals experienced in driving in Pacific Northwest snow and ice.

The main floor consists of 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, large living room, dining room, kitchen and deck. You'll find it spacious, yet cozy. Your family can gather around the warm and inviting river rock gas fireplace. Our kitchen is great for entertaining with granite counter tops and convenient breakfast bar area. It is well stocked with many amenities cooks will love. The dining room seats eight people. The lower level offers additional sleeping area and rec-room.

PARKING:

We have a shared driveway with neighbors so parking is assigned and we ask that you not block the driveway. Parking is limited but adequate for most groups staying within our maximum occupancy of 8 people. We have an EV charger; level 2 in the garage for electric vehicles. There is a 2 car garage and space in front of the garage for parking. If you plan on more than 3 vehicles, please ask the owner about parking. Our house and the neighbor's house are separated by our two garages so there is plenty of room between the two homes.

WINTER RESERVATIONS (November through end of March):

* If your group consists of adults only, our maximum occupancy is 6 adults.

This community is great for skiers or families. At an elevation of 1886 feet, we receive quite allot of snow here. All winter reservations REQUIRE traction tires (winter snow tires preferred; all-season minimum with good tread) AND all-wheel drive vehicle (4x4, SUV, Subaru etc.) for access. Drivers should be experienced in navigating Pacific Northwest winter snow conditions. The community roads are plowed, however they are secondary roads so drivers should expect compact snow and ice. The driveway is a shared driveway which is plowed regularly. However, due to the steep grade, vehicle and winter tire requirements mentioned above are REQUIRED to get back up. Two-wheel drive vehicles, such as a car or mini-van (front or rear-wheel) even with chains cannot make it back up the driveway. We are happy to arrange resort maintenance crews to plow the driveway and walkways for guests as necessary. The house is located on the upper level of the community mountain roadway which means roadways are steeper but we have great views.

Other things to note:

• Security camera disclosure: For the security of the property, external security cameras monitor access points.

• Additional guests or visitors beyond your reservation request are not permitted. Our community association has strict occupancy rules.

• Minimum age to rent is 25 years old.

• Winter reservations ~ if your group consists of adults only, our maximum occupancy is 6 adults.

• Before submitting your reservation request, please adjust your total number of adults and total number of children (children and infants) to be true and accurate.

• At the time of booking, you will be sent an electronic version of our rental agreement to fill in and sign. This is required. Access and keycode is not provided until this is done.

• Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged upon request only. During peak seasons, early check-in or late check-out may not be possible depending on scheduling. Guaranteed late check-out when possible is $150 up to 4:00 pm.

• Longer stays require additional cleaning service mid-way through a reservation.

• The cleaning fee is primarily for laundry and light post-stay tidy. To avoid additional cleaning charges follow check-out instructions. We request that prior to your departure you remove your garbage and recycling, load the dishwasher and run it and check that the house is closed up and secure.

• There is no cable TV. However, free wireless internet is included in your stay and we have an extensive DVD collection, Netflix and Disney +, so you can sit back and watch movies.

• This location is not convenient for taking the Amtrak to Leavenworth. A car is required.

House Rules
An electronic version of the house rules/rental agreement will be emailed to you to acknowledge, fill in and sign. We require completion of this form within 24 hours of your booking request. This is an overview of house rules and things to note.

• Additional guests or visitors beyond your reservation request are not permitted. Our community golf course resort has strict occupancy rules. Additional people, visitors or pets without written consent of the owner will result in an assessment of additional fees or forfeit of the security deposit at the discretion of the owner.
• No pets
• Standard check-in is 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is 11:00 a.m. unless otherwise agreed to.
• No parties or events. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
• Winter reservations (November through end of March): In snow and icy conditions, it is REQUIRED to have traction tires (all-season minimum with good tread) and a 4-wheel drive vehicle to go down our steep driveway. The owner will not be held responsible for any costs associated with needing to tow stuck vehicles.
• Renter and their guests agree to follow all parking recommendations provided by the owner.
• No smoking, fires or fireworks of any kind.
• Guests are expected to treat the house with respect and follow the community golf course resort rules. A full list of golf course resort rules is provided in the house binder.
• No subletting
• The owner is not responsible for any accidents, illness or personal loss that may occur while on the property by the guest or other guests they may invite to the property.
• Daily housekeeping is not provided. The cleaning fee covers laundry and light post-stay tidy. Longer stays will require additional cleaning service mid-way through a reservation.

Renters agree to abide by parking instructions provided by the owner and not to block the driveway or neighbor’s parking spaces. We are unable to accommodate parking for RVs.
• During November through end of March, guests will be asked to provide vehicle make/model for all vehicles to confirm access requirements.

Checking out:
• The cleaning fee is primarily for laundry, disinfecting and light post-stay tidy. We request that prior to your departure you remove your food, garbage and recycling, load dirty dishes into the dishwasher and start the dishwasher, if you used the BBQ ensure that the knobs are in the off position and check that the house is closed up and secure.

Payment Policy
The name of the person making the reservation must match the name on credit card or PayPal account. Security deposit is a credit card authorization filled in a few days before arrival and before door codes/access is provided. It is not charged to your card unless necessary per the house rules up to 14 days post stay.

Refundable Damage Deposit
The security deposit is invoiced a few days prior to arrival. It is a credit card pre-authorization. Your card will not be charged unless there is damage or reason outlined in the rental agreement.
Cancellation Policy
Travelers who cancel at least 14 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount they've paid. If they cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in, they'll get back 50%. Otherwise, they won't get a refund.
